Extensive experience modeling digitally for concept art, high-fidelity rendering (both still and animations), and most importantly fabrication. Requirements for all of these outputs can be vastly different and when working in teams or designing with collaborators it’s important to know both what steps to take and what others expect. Preparing files for artistic or realist rendering is vastly different from preparing a 3D print-ready model, or schematics and models for more traditional manufacturing. Knowing the difference saves time and money.

Since 2014 I have worked hands-on in a shop. It has shaped who I am as a designer today. Knowing your materials, tools, and conditions greatly impacts how one designs a finished product of any quality whether for luxury or a film. Understanding the wholistic process, and how the chain functions from the material source to the final output adds another level to your efficiency.
Whether we need to plan for something being fabricated and coordinate, or if I need to be in the shop working on the product myself, I can assure a quality result.

This contemporary Chandelier [5’ x 3.8’ x 5’] was designed for Jump Into The Light, a company in NYC that is home to an array of VR/AR based experiences. This interactive installation implements an digital process developed in-house to create clean, 3D printable joints for complex structures. These Nodes are printed in Onyx, a proprietary reinforced plastic from Markforged, with additional fiberglass reinforcement where necessary. Our friends at Design Morphine are creating custom interactive LED lights that will push color off the reflective, chromatic panels on the interior. Dustin White’s personal process for creating intricate plastic netting via laser-cutting and hand forming will act as a diffuser around the main body of the chandelier.
